Utility work begins on Riverside Drive in New Smyrna Beach.

Due to utility work beginning today, Monday, July 17, 2023, on North Riverside Drive between Washington and Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach, utility workers will implement traffic restrictions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Thursday, July 20. The constraints include only allowing residents and emergency vehicles through the work zone and utilizing detours around the area.

This measure aims to ensure the safety and smooth flow of operations at the construction site. Contractor crews will manage the daily placement of all traffic control devices and comply with FDOT regulations by providing clear pathways for pedestrian movement as necessary.

Non-resident motorists should plan alternative routes during the specified timeframe to avoid inconveniences or delays. Detour and guidance signs will be in place along Magnolia Street and Sams Avenue to assist drivers in finding the most appropriate paths to their destinations.
