Volusia County Schools is proud to announce that graduation rates for the 2020 – 2021 school year were at the highest they have ever been at 91.9 percent; An increase by 4.2 percent from the 2019 – 2020 school year.

According to a release, Volusia County’s graduation rates have surpassed the state average of 90.1 percent by 1.8 percent for the first time and have grown more than 13 percent over three years.

“By igniting a passion for learning in our students, Volusia County Schools is seeing more students than ever walking across that graduation stage,” said Superintendent Dr. Scott Fritz. “This is a K-12 effort and an accomplishment that involved not only the students and their families but their teachers, school counselors, school administrators, principals, and district staff, and we are celebrating this success today!”

Volusia County Schools credits the improvements of the graduation rates to a comprehensive strategy focusing on providing individualized support to seniors, close monitoring of seniors’ credits and grades, more career technology programs, and the addition of advanced programs.
