Southeast Volusia County Leaders discuss Future Economic Development in New Smyrna Beach, Oak Hill, and Edgewater.

The Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce has plans to host an Economic Summit with leaders from New Smyrna Beach, Oak Hill, and Edgewater on Thursday, February 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brannon Center. 

The meeting, which is open to the public, will address the future of economic development for Southeast Volusia County. In their first meeting, held on May 17, 2021, community leaders discussed identifying target industries for economic opportunities. 

During this second meeting, the leaders will further discuss options for future economic opportunities, which includes:

- Improving the quality of life for all citizens

- Restoring and sustaining our beautiful natural and built environment

- Fostering the recruitment, retention, and expansion of high-paying jobs

- Collaborating as a region to accomplish bigger things
