Residents and stakeholders of New Smyrna Beach who are interested in embarking on a journey to uncover the city's rich past and contribute to its future are invited to an open house event on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the James W. Hathaway Commission Chambers, at 214 Sams Avenue in New Smyrna Beach. 

Hosted by the Development Services Department, the open house will be an engaging evening of discovery and discussion with Assistant City Manager Ron Neibert, kicking off the event. 

Following a brief introduction, attendees will have the unique opportunity to delve into various aspects of New Smyrna Beach's development and growth. The event will feature dedicated stations, each staffed by experts from different departments, including Planning, Engineering, Building, and Code Compliance. These professionals will be available to answer questions, provide information on individual projects, and offer insights into the city's comprehensive plan.

One of the highlights of the evening will be the chance for residents and stakeholders to share their valuable thoughts and ideas on enhancing the city's processes. This open exchange of ideas aims to strengthen community involvement and ensure that New Smyrna Beach continues to evolve in a way that resonates with its citizens.
