One person injured following a shooting in New Smyrna Beach.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reported a shooting incident, that left one person injured on Sunday afternoon off Lakeshore Drive in New Smyrna Beach. The shooting occurred after deputies received reports of an armed person threatening others.

According to a Facebook post shared by the Sheriff’s Office, the subject was shot and injured after advancing toward a deputy. The individual was stabilized at the scene before being transported to the hospital for medical treatment. There are no other injuries to report.
