On Thursday morning, the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department was dispatched to the Ocean Breeze Tiki Bar at 521 Flagler Avenue to respond to a reported structure fire at 6:32 a.m.

Engine 52 arrived at the scene, noting heavy fire from the upstairs restaurant. Due to the severity of the fire, a second alarm was called in at 6:40 a.m., allowing Edgewater Fire Rescue, Port Orange Fire Rescue, and Volusia County EMS to assist the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department.

Firefighters worked diligently to bring the blaze under control, and units at the scene had successfully done so by 7:20 a.m. There were no injuries reported to any civilians or firefighters.

The Florida State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire, and the City of New Smyrna Beach Fire Bureau will assist in the investigation. Both teams remain on the scene at this time.

Unfortunately, it appears that the restaurant has suffered a total loss.
