The New Smyrna Beach Airport, also known as Jack Bolt Field, has been searching for a new Assistant Airport Manager, and Arvin Weese has been announced as the candidate to fill the position.

Weese is a New Smyrna Beach native and has been interested in aviation since a young age. When he was nineteen, he first flew a solo flight of ten hours at Daytona Beach International Airport. After the experience, he decided to steer away from flying but stayed in aviation for private and commercial jobs.

Recently, Weese worked with Sheltair Aviation, where he spent twelve years as General Manager. He has coordinated and executed large-scale fly-in events, handled busy refueling with Embry-Riddle flight operations, and provided ground support for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

“I look forward to assisting Adam (the Interim Airport Manager) and our team as we work to continually develop and improve our community airport,” Weese said in an interview with the city of New Smyrna Beach.

Residents may contact Arvin Weese at aweese@cityofnsb.com or (386)410-2680 for any questions or comments.
