A distressing act of animal cruelty was captured on camera on July 25, 2023, around 12:30 a.m., near 421 Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach. The incident involved an unidentified male luring a defenseless chicken with food before committing a heinous act of violence against the innocent creature.

The disturbing footage shows the individual enticing the chicken with food, betraying the bird's trust, and then ruthlessly executing the defenseless animal. The perpetrator first smashed the chicken on the ground not once but twice and then stomped on its head, ending its life in a cruel and senseless manner.

The New Smyrna Beach Police Department urges anyone who recognizes the male pictured in the footage or has any information about the incident to come forward and contact Sergeant Morris at 386-424-2247.
