New Smyrna Beach Police investigating shooting on South Dixie Freeway

One person was shot Thursday morning during a shooting on South Dixie Freeway in New Smyrna Beach. During the initial investigation, the New Smyrna Beach Police Department closed the northbound lanes of South Dixie Freeway, and traffic was diverted onto Riverside Drive.
According to officials, the shooter is in custody, and the victim is at the hospital seeking medical treatment.
All southbound lanes of South Dixie Freeway and one northbound lane are now open. No further information is available at this time.
