Handgun discharged during a fight at the Islander Beach Resort in New Smyrna Beach.

New Smyrna Beach Police responded to a call at the Islander Beach Resort off S. Atlantic Avenue in New Smyrna Beach around 10 p.m. Monday after several adults engaged in an argument at the hot tub area of the resort.
According to reports, a physical fight started during the argument between several males, one man fired a handgun into the air, and the suspects fled the area before officers arrived on the scene. One victim received medical treatment for a laceration.
New Smyrna Beach Police Department is currently investigating this incident.
