About the Firm & Our Story
As parents of two incredible boys plus their remarkable wives, grandparents to two adorable grandbabies, and married to the loves of our lives, we know what it means to love and protect your family. Our life's journey started when Irene moved from Canada where she grew up in the foster care system and graduated as nurse in 1985. Nursing provided a way for Irene to share her passion of caring for and guiding others through difficult moments in their lives. Eventually Irene moved to the Sunshine State where she became an Intensive Care nurse and we met. I worked as a pediatric emergency room nurse at the time we met, after spending time in the military. I served as a Navy Corpsman who was blessed to spend time with the Marines and trained as a “combat medic” for the Marines. Shortly after Irene and I met, we got married and had our two sons, fourteen months apart!

Our deep-rooted love for learning led us to graduate from Nursing School, Law School and Business School both of us graduating with our MBA. Things were looking bright for us when life seemingly stopped. In my last semester of Law School, we discovered a brain tumor lurking and growing in my brain stem. This abhorrent monster left me with a less than 1% chance of survival - surgery or not.
Irene and I were given the option to take a week to get our affairs in order, to make plans and spend time with family before I was to go through surgery. We can tell you from firsthand experience that making a plan that will affect your family and loved ones is not best to leave to the last minute! All I could think of was Irene, our boys, and who was going to take care of them.
